WATAF COMMUNICATION BOSS LAUDS MEDIA PARTNERS, CREDITS TAX AWARENESS GAINS TO STRONG COLLABORATION

MONROVIA – The Manager for Communication and Information Technology at the West African Tax Administration Forum (WATAF), Danicius Kaihenneh Sengbeh, has extended heartfelt appreciation to media partners, tax ambassadors, and communication stakeholders, crediting their sustained collaboration for significant progress in tax education, public awareness, and revenue mobilization efforts in Liberia and across West Africa.

In a reflective statement shared with partners described as “Tax Ambassadors,” Sengbeh emphasized that the achievements recorded in strengthening tax communication were not the work of a single institution or individual, but the result of a broad network of committed professionals working in partnership.

“Today, I remember and simply want to say thank you,” he stated, expressing gratitude for what he described as unwavering support to both the Liberia Revenue Authority (LRA) and WATAF over the years.

He praised media practitioners and communication partners for voluntarily supporting tax education initiatives, noting that many contributed not out of obligation but out of a belief in improving public understanding of taxation and promoting accountability.

According to him, this collaboration helped translate complex tax policies into accessible information for ordinary citizens, thereby improving civic understanding and encouraging voluntary tax compliance.

“You are the kind of partners that institutions remember and history records,” Sengbeh said, highlighting what he described as a lasting legacy of cooperation between tax institutions and the media.

He further noted that the impact of the partnership extended beyond traditional media outputs such as press releases, interviews, and publications, pointing instead to broader outcomes including increased public trust in tax institutions, stronger domestic revenue mobilization, and improved awareness of fiscal responsibilities.

Sengbeh, who previously served as Manager for Communications, Media and Public Affairs at the Liberia Revenue Authority, credited the same spirit of collaboration for strengthening tax communication systems in Liberia and supporting ongoing regional cooperation under WATAF.

“Together, we elevated tax communication and public awareness in Liberia and beyond,” he stated, adding that the success achieved was built on shared commitment and collective effort.

He also emphasized that the contributions of media partners had strengthened institutional visibility and improved public engagement in tax administration processes, ultimately contributing to national and regional development goals.

Reflecting on his professional journey, Sengbeh noted that the progress recorded in tax communication could not be attributed to one person or institution, but to a “community of committed professionals” working toward a common objective.

“You made me better. You made the LRA better. You continue to make WATAF better,” he said, expressing continued appreciation for their role in shaping tax communication outcomes.

He reaffirmed his commitment to sustaining the partnership, expressing optimism that continued collaboration would deepen impact, expand outreach, and further strengthen public understanding of taxation across West Africa.

“Thank you for believing in the mission, for your collaboration, your trust, and for standing with us through the years,” he concluded.
