MONROVIA PARTIALLY PARALYZED AS POLICE ENFORCE NO-GO ZONE FOR MOTORCYCLISTS

MONROVIA  – The streets of Monrovia experienced partial paralysis today as officers of the Liberia National Police (LNP) began enforcing a no-go zone for motorcyclists. The new regulation, which took effect on Wednesday, May 15, 2024, prohibits motorcyclists from entering certain areas of the city.

The enforcement of the no-go zone has led to disruptions in transportation and traffic congestion in various parts of Monrovia. Motorcyclists, who are a primary mode of transportation for many residents, have been forced to find alternative routes or modes of transportation.

The decision to implement the no-go zone comes amidst efforts by the LNP to improve road safety and reduce traffic accidents involving motorcyclists. However, the sudden enforcement of the regulation has caught many riders off guard, leading to confusion and frustration among commuters.

Authorities have advised motorcyclists to comply with the new regulation and seek alternative routes to avoid any confrontation with law enforcement officers. The LNP has also urged the public to exercise patience and understanding as they work to enforce the no-go zone and ensure the safety of all road users.

The enforcement of the no-go zone is expected to continue in the coming days as the LNP seeks to maintain order and safety on the streets of Monrovia.
