MONROVIA – The National Executive Council of the Congress for Democratic Change-Council of Patriots (CDC-COP) has officially endorsed the Movement Against Boakai’s Presidency, initiated by Representative Yekeh Y. Kolubah. In a press release issued today, the CDC-COP extolled Rep. Kolubah’s efforts in agitating against what it describes as the Boakai Administration’s bad governance.
The CDC-COP emphasized the need for all well-meaning Liberians to support this movement, seeing it as a nationalistic duty to protect the country’s democracy. The council affirmed its solidarity with Rep. Kolubah and the Liberian masses in confronting the current administration’s alleged mismanagement and corruption.
The press release criticized President Joseph N. Boakai, labeling him as vindictive and revengeful. It urged opposition political parties to engage in honest, logical, and revolutionary actions against the Boakai Unity Party, rather than merely voicing opposition. The CDC-COP highlighted a range of issues, including corruption, economic mismanagement, and human rights violations, which they attribute to Boakai’s leadership.
Recalling Boakai’s previous support for the Weah Steps Down Campaign, the CDC-COP stated that this historical precedent strengthens their resolve to hold the Unity Party accountable. The council expressed its commitment to supporting any opposition forces aiming to challenge the current administration and promised unwavering support for the Movement Against Boakai’s Presidency.
The CDC-COP reiterated the importance of a critical and revolutionary opposition to ensure that the government fulfills its constitutional duties without exploiting the country. The council concluded by emphasizing their determination to support the movement until the realization of what they termed as “the Liberia people’s redemptive revolution.”
