SUSPENDED LAWMAKERS’ DECEMBER SALARIES DEPOSITED INTO CONSOLIDATED ACCOUNT

MONROVIA, LIBERIA –  Members of the Majority in Liberia’s House of Representatives have confirmed the deposit of over two million Liberian dollars, initially allocated as December salaries for seven suspended lawmakers, into the government’s consolidated account.

The affected legislators include Hon. Abu Bana Kamara, Sr., Hon. Alex S. Noah, Hon. Edward P. Flomo, Hon. Eugine J.M. Kollie, Hon. Frank S. Foko, Hon. J. Marvin Cole, and Hon. Zinnah Norman. According to Representative James Kolleh, these lawmakers will not receive their December pay, following a decision by the legislative body to uphold their suspensions, which span over three months in some cases.

The suspensions, which arose from alleged misconduct, include a 30-working-day penalty for Edward P. Flomo and Abu Kamara, stripped of all legislative benefits. Hon. Marvin Cole’s suspension was part of a unanimous vote by the Majority Bloc on November 19, 2024, citing actions deemed inappropriate for a legislator.
