NEW POLICE STATION TO STRENGTHEN SECURITY IN LOUISIANA TOWNSHIP

Date:

MONTSERRADO COUNTY – The Township of Louisiana in Lower Montserrado County is set to receive a major boost in its efforts to combat crime with the construction of a modern police station. Representative Rugie Yatu Barry of District #1, Montserrado County, has partnered with local authorities to address the growing security concerns in the area. The official groundbreaking ceremony took place on January 28, 2025, at the Louisiana Town Hall, marking a significant milestone in the effort to enhance law enforcement capabilities in the township.

During the ceremony, Representative Barry expressed her unwavering commitment to improving the safety and well-being of her constituents. She emphasized the importance of a strong police presence in the region and stated that the new police station would serve as a critical tool in the fight against criminal activities in the area. “The safety of our people is my top priority, and this police station is one way we can ensure that Louisiana Township remains a safe and secure community for all,” she said.

On behalf of the Liberia National Police, Deputy Inspector General for Administration, Hon. William K. Mulbah, spoke highly of Representative Barry’s initiative. He praised her vision for security in the township and assured the residents that the police force would fully support the new station. “We will ensure that this facility is properly staffed and equipped to handle any security challenges that may arise,” Mulbah stated. He reiterated that the Liberia National Police would provide the necessary resources to ensure the station’s success, including manpower and logistical support.

The event, which saw an enthusiastic turnout, was attended by local students, youth organizations, and residents of Louisiana Township. Many expressed their gratitude for the new police station, viewing it as a step toward reducing crime and improving safety in the area.

Once completed, the police station is expected to provide a more visible and effective law enforcement presence in Louisiana Township. Representative Barry’s collaboration with local authorities and the Liberia National Police demonstrates a proactive approach to addressing security concerns and fostering a safer environment for the community.
