MONROVIA – Afriland First Bank Liberia Limited has confirmed that several staff members accused of misconduct have been turned over to the Liberia National Police following an internal investigation. The bank said those individuals are now facing legal proceedings before the courts.
In a statement issued Wednesday, September 10, 2025, and signed by Cllr. Yeahnee King Allen, the bank’s In-house Legal Counsel, Afriland emphasized that the alleged actions were in direct violation of its policies and code of conduct. The bank noted that the employees involved were immediately suspended while the investigation was ongoing.
“Afriland First Bank Liberia maintains a zero-tolerance policy toward fraud and financial impropriety of any kind,” the release stated. “We will continue to cooperate fully with the relevant authorities to ensure that due process is followed and justice is served.”
The financial institution stressed that the misconduct does not reflect its values or operations and assured the public that the bank remains financially sound. It further emphasized that customers’ deposits and accounts are safe and secure, and that all operations are continuing normally.
