MONROVIA – The Liberia National Police (LNP) has formally charged Samuel P. Jackson in connection with the death of his wife, Toni Jackson, in a case that has drawn widespread public attention across Liberia.

The charges were announced by the Liberia National Police during a press briefing held on Thursday, April 2, 2026, at its headquarters in Monrovia. Speaking to journalists, Inspector General Gregory Coleman confirmed that Jackson is facing multiple criminal counts linked to the incident.

According to police, the charges include manslaughter, negligent homicide, aggravated assault, and reckless endangerment of another person’s life. Authorities say the decision to charge Jackson follows ongoing investigations into the circumstances surrounding his wife’s death.

The case dates back to March 13, 2026, when Toni Jackson died under what investigators initially described as sudden and unclear circumstances. Her passing immediately sparked concern and speculation, prompting the police to launch a full-scale investigation.

Inspector General Coleman stated that the charges stem from findings gathered during the probe, although he did not disclose specific details of the evidence at this stage. He emphasized that the case remains under active investigation.

“The Liberia National Police has formally charged Mr. Samuel Jackson with multiple offenses in connection with the death of his wife,” Coleman said, noting that the legal process will now take its course.

The death of Toni Jackson has generated intense public interest, fueled in part by discussions and emerging claims circulating on social media platforms in the days following the incident.

Police have cautioned against misinformation, urging the public to allow the justice system to handle the matter based on verified evidence and due process.

The case is expected to proceed through the courts, where prosecutors will seek to establish the extent of Jackson’s responsibility in the tragic death.
