MONROVIA – A senior member of the Citizens Movement for Change (CMC), Samuel P. Jackson, has formally announced his immediate suspension from his position as Economic Strategist, citing ongoing judicial proceedings involving his person.
In a letter addressed to the Political Leader of the CMC, Musa Hassan Bility, Jackson stated that his decision was made voluntarily and in the best interest of the institution. The communication, dated April 13, 2026, originated from Gayetown, Old Road in Monrovia.
Jackson emphasized that his temporary withdrawal from both his affiliation and official role within the party is intended to prevent any potential distraction that his legal situation might pose to the Movement’s activities and broader political agenda.
“This decision is taken in the best interest of the institution, to ensure that ongoing legal matters do not distract from the mission and objectives of the Movement,” the letter noted.
Despite stepping aside, Jackson reaffirmed his loyalty and commitment to the core principles and vision of the CMC. He highlighted the party’s focus on promoting peace, stability, economic growth, and social equity across Liberia, signaling that his support for these ideals remains unchanged.
The leadership of the CMC has yet to issue an official response to Jackson’s suspension.
