BREWERVILLE, MONTSERRADO COUNTY – The Apostolic Pentecostal Church International is set to bring together pastors, ministers and members of its wider Christian community for its 17th General Ministerial Retreat, with organizers placing emphasis on ministerial refresher training, prayer, sustainable development and stronger fellowship within the church.
The three-day retreat is scheduled for Wednesday, September 23 through Friday, September 25, 2026, at the New Water in the Desert Assembly of the Apostolic Pentecostal Church International General Headquarters on the VOA #1 Road in Brewerville City, Montserrado County.
The retreat is being held under the theme, “Launch Out Into the Deep,” drawn from St. Luke 5:1-4, with particular reference to Jesus’ instruction to Simon to move into deeper waters and let down his nets for a catch.
According to the church’s announcement, the annual gathering will provide an opportunity for pastors and ministers to receive refresher training while engaging in prayer and discussions aimed at strengthening the church’s ministry and fellowship.
The inclusion of sustainable development initiatives among the retreat’s areas of focus also places attention beyond routine ministerial activities, pointing to the church’s interest in examining how its religious fellowship can be connected to initiatives that contribute to communities and society.
The retreat is expected to bring together the Presiding Prelate, members of the General Executive Council, presbyters, pastors, ministers and other members of the Apostolic Pentecostal Church International.
The church has also scheduled evening fellowship services throughout the retreat, beginning at 6:00 p.m. each day.
For the organizers, the theme “Launch Out Into the Deep” provides the spiritual foundation for the gathering, with the retreat designed to encourage ministers to deepen their commitment to their calling while strengthening relationships within the church.
The three-day program comes at a time when religious institutions across Liberia continue to play roles beyond worship, including community engagement, moral instruction, social support and initiatives intended to respond to challenges affecting families and communities.
The APC International says the retreat will therefore serve as a period of training, prayer, fellowship and reflection as its ministers prepare for another phase of service.
The gathering is expected to conclude on Friday, September 25, ahead of another major church activity scheduled for Sunday, September 27.
That activity will be the launch of the Apostolic Pentecostal Church International’s 12th cycle of its nationwide annual three-month prayer campaign, which will focus on the family, the church and nations.
The church has extended an invitation to the Christian community and the general public to participate in the retreat’s evening fellowship services and to join the wider activities surrounding the prayer campaign.
