MONROVIA – The Press Union of Liberia (PUL) has opened a Book of Condolence for fallen Liberia journalist, John Kumeh.
The Book of Condolence was opened today Thursday at the Headquarters of the Press Union of Liberia on Clay Street in Monrovia.
Veteran Liberian journalist John Kumeh died on March 7, 2023, after a protracted period of illness.
Mr. Kumeh after his University education worked at the Liberia Broadcasting System for over 15 years as an Announcer, Reporter and a Newscaster.
He served the WASH sector of Liberia with distinction, producing the popular radio Program, “WASH & Nutrition Hour” on State Radio.
He was a passionate WASH Journalist, serving as acting Finance Officer and later as Field Coordinator of the WASH R&E “Media” Network of Liberia, a Lead Member of the Liberia WASH CSOs Network.
Mr. John Kumeh will be remembered for his passionate, professional and sacrificial Media services to the government and people of Liberia, the Church and to local and international organizations, especially the WASH, Nutrition and Health sectors of Liberia.
The brief ceremony for the Opening of the Book of Condolence for Mr. John Kumeh was attended by the family and Liberian journalists, including the President of the Press Union of Liberia, Charles Coffey, the Chairman of WASH R&E “Media” and WASHNet Liberia respectively, Gus N. Myers, and the Secretary General of the Publisher Association of Liberia, Cholo Brooks.
Meanwhile, the Funeral service for the late John Kumeh will be held tomorrow Friday, March 24, 2023 at the New Hope Church in Maryland Center on the Barnersville road.
The body will be taken from the Abraham Roberts Funeral Home at 10:00 in the morning and later to the Church, followed by interment at the Kebbah Cemetery.
