PUL ADVISES MEDIA PROFESSIONALS NOT TO LOSE THEIR COOL OVER THE HEALTH OF ITS PRESIDENT

Date:

MONROVIA – The Press Union of Liberia is advising all media professionals and the public not to lose their cool over the health of its president, Charles B. Coffey, Jr.

President Coffey and his driver were getting off a motorbike when they were struck by a commercial vehicle, which instantly killed the operator of the motorbike and left Coffey with a fractured thigh and a dislocated knee, both of which have been confirmed by an X-ray, and his driver hurt.

According to the PUL release, President Coffey is stable and getting emergency medical care at the John F. Kennedy Memorial Hospital (JFK) from a medical staff of experts.

The Union expresses gratitude to former representative J. Byron Brown, Sr. and Attorney Ebenezer A. Zonoe for being the accident’s first responders. Before referring Coffey and his driver to the JFK medical facility in Monrovia, the two men who are lawyers transported the pair to Buchanan.

Former Representative J. Byron Brown, Sr. had to utilize his pick-up to bring Coffey and his driver to the JFK since there was no diesel to convey the injured to Monrovia at the Liberia Government Hospital.

The Union also thanks the medical staff in Buchanan at the Liberia Government Hospital, as well as Elton Tiah, and Onesimus Garway, the PUL Grand Bassa County Coordinator, for acting quickly to address the health of the Union’s President, Charles Coffey.

The Press Union of Liberia requests your continuing prayers for President Coffey’s rapid recovery as well as those of his driver. We also regret the loss of the motorcyclist.
