BILITY REJECTS POLITICAL COALITIONS, SAYS CMC STANDS ALONE FOR NIMBA AND LIBERIA

Date:

MONROVIA – Representative Musa Hassan Bility, political leader of the Citizen Movement for Change (CMC), has declared that his movement will not align with any of Liberia’s traditional political blocs, denouncing them as part of a system built on self-interest and elite manipulation.

In a strongly worded statement issued Friday, April 19, 2025, Bility said the CMC remains committed to forging a new political path that prioritizes the daily struggles of ordinary Liberians, particularly those in Nimba County, over what he described as “compromise without conscience” by entrenched political players.

“The old and usual political players have taken sides, but CMC is proud to stand alone in our unwavering quest for a better Nimba and a better Liberia,” Bility stated.

He accused Liberia’s traditional political stakeholders of being disconnected from the realities facing everyday citizens and criticized recent alliances among these actors as desperate attempts to preserve the status quo. According to Bility, such maneuvers only reinforce CMC’s resolve to advocate for a people-centered movement that breaks away from elite-driven politics.

Bility maintained that the people of Nimba are no longer willing to be used as pawns in political games. “They know who walks with them and who only remembers them during election season,” he said, emphasizing that CMC trusts the electorate to think independently and vote for genuine representation.

With a tone of defiance and determination, the CMC leader vowed not to be swayed by “temporary coalitions built on fear and favoritism,” asserting that change will ultimately come through the collective will of the people.

“We are ready. We are focused. And we will not back down,” the statement concluded.
