COACH MARINICA SELECTS TWO LOCAL TECHNICAL STAFF

Date:

LIBERIA – Newly appointed head coach Mario Marinica has hit the ground running ahead of his first major task, which is the 2025 AFCON preliminary qualifiers.

Marinica has selected coach Kelvin Sebwe and Chris Wesseh as his local assistant coach and goakeeper trainer, respectively.

The duo will temporarily fill in for the Lone Star’s two upcoming matches.

Other members of his technical staff include assistant coaches Clwyd Jones and Ronald D. Moroka, as well as a fitness coach, Chikondi Mandalasi.

Since his arrival in Liberia, Marinica and and his assistant, Clwyd, have been gathering information, watching league games and test matches, and monitoring players.

Marinica has been able to identify a number of players who will be joined by players nominated by various teams in the Orange First and Second Divisions as well as the technical committee.

He will announce his provisional 30 local squad list next week for training camp.

Liberia will face Djibouti in the preliminary round of the 2025 AFCON on a home and away basis during the FIFA window between 20-26, March 2024.
