DR. GRAY BIDS FAREWELL TO GRAND KRU TECHNICAL COLLEGE AS DR. FAEFLEN TAKES OVER LEADERSHIP

Date:

BARCLAYVILLE, GRAND KRU COUNTY – After 13 months of dedicated service, Professor Dr. Josephus Gbala-hinnih Moses Gray on Monday officially bade farewell to the Grand Kru Technical College (GKTC) in Barclayville City, making way for newly appointed President, Prof. Dr. Sarwee Joe Wia Faeflen.

Dr. Gray, who served as Acting President of the institution, expressed gratitude to the college’s faculty, staff, and student body for their cooperation during his tenure. Speaking at a special farewell program, he urged the college community to extend the same level of support to Dr. Faeflen as he assumes leadership.

President Joseph Nyuma Boakai recently appointed Dr. Faeflen as the new President of GKTC, and his investiture is scheduled for Tuesday, May 6, 2025, at the Barclayville City Hall. The ceremonial handover of the college’s gavel from Dr. Gray to Dr. Faeflen will mark the formal transfer of leadership. The City Hall has been fully decorated in anticipation of the event, and key guests, including members of the Board of Trustees led by Chairperson Prof. Weade Kobbah-Boley, are already in Barclayville for the occasion.

During the farewell program, Dr. Gray also took the opportunity to award two overseas scholarships to one male and one female student from the college’s inaugural graduating class. The students, selected for their academic excellence, will pursue undergraduate degrees at Sharda University in India in disciplines of their choice.

Dr. Gray encouraged all students to take their studies seriously and emphasized the importance of education in shaping their futures. Faculty and students alike praised his leadership, citing improvements in both the academic environment and faculty quality during his tenure. The atmosphere was marked by emotion, appreciation, and admiration as the college prepared for a new chapter under Dr. Faeflen’s stewardship.
