EDUCATION MINISTRY COMPLETES NATIONWIDE AUDIT OF GOVERNMENT SCHOLARSHIP BENEFICIARIES

Date:

MONROVIA – The Ministry of Education has announced the successful completion of a nationwide headcount of beneficiaries under the Government of Liberia’s local scholarship program. The three-week initiative, which ended on April 30, 2025, was conducted across 16 academic institutions in five counties.

Led by the Ministry’s Scholarship Division, the exercise aimed to improve transparency, strengthen oversight, and verify the accuracy of data within the national scholarship system.

The institutions included in the headcount were:

Montserrado County: Starz University, A.M.E University, A.M.E. Zion University, Cuttington University Graduate School, Smythe University College, United Methodist University, Salvation Army Polytechnic, Carver Christian University, and Censil University College.

Margibi County: Cuttington Junior College and Seventh Day Adventist University.

Bong County: Cuttington University and Sumo Moye Memorial Technical College.

Nimba County: Liberia International Christian College in Ganta.

Lofa County: Free Pentecostal University in Voinjama and Esther Bacon College of Health Sciences in Zorzor.

The headcount aimed to establish a verified and current database of scholarship recipients, promote integrity in the disbursement process, and guide future policy decisions related to educational investment.

The Ministry praised the collaboration of participating institutions, stakeholders, and students, whose involvement made the verification process a success.
