NIMBA COUNTY – Angry crowd on Tuesday, February 7, 2023, reportedly mobbed to death the county’s football star, Sabu Yenglee. He was killed for his alleged connection in an armed robbery attack in the Glenyi-Luu community, Ganta City.
Yenglee believed to be in his early 20s, according to reports, with two others yet to be identified had gone into the community to allegedly armed rob a man identified as Harris Kerkulah.
The late defender was part of the Nimba County team that won the 2022-23 edition of the National County Sports Meet. He featured in Nimba’s 2-1 defeat to Lofa County in the opening group match of the tournament in Voinjama, Lofa County on 18 December.
There is no statement from the deceased family or the police… Details will follow.
