MONROVIA – The mother of a 15-year-old boy who was allegedly gang-sodomized in Monrovia has broken her silence, demanding justice as the Liberia National Police confirmed the arrest of a senior official of the National Security Agency. The suspect, identified as Deputy Director Peter Bonn Jallah, popularly known as “Bon Jallah,” is currently in police custody, while two other alleged perpetrators are reportedly on the run.
In an emotional account shared through a leaked audio interview, the grieving mother described her son as badly traumatized and physically harmed. She said the child’s condition remains terrible, noting that the pain of watching her son suffer has left her devastated and struggling to find peace.
According to the mother, the alleged crime involved multiple men, whom she described as powerful and well-known figures. She alleged that those involved initially attempted to hide the incident, but said her family refused to remain silent in the face of what she called an unforgivable act against her child.
She explained that officers from the Women and Children Protection Section of the Liberia National Police, along with other police units, moved in after the case was reported. The mother said police assured her they were doing their best, which is why she has allowed the investigation to proceed without rushing or interfering with the process.
The mother recounted that the suspect was first taken away under the claim that he was being questioned. She said the man denied knowing her son or having any connection to him, insisting he had never seen the child. However, she stated that investigators later found inconsistencies in his statements.
She further disclosed that police and medical personnel visited the hospital where her son was taken for treatment. At that time, she said, the boy was too traumatized and frightened to speak about what had happened to him, as he was still in shock.
