MONROVIA – The Press Union of Liberia, (PUL) will on Friday, April 7, 2023, hold a Media Security Analysis Dialogue under the theme: The Role of the Media and the Security during Elections”.
According to the PUL release, on Friday, April 7, 2023, at 9 A.M, the Media Security Dialogue will take place at the iCampus on Snapper Hill, Carey Street, Monrovia.
Given the significance of media’s security relations prior to, during, and after the October’s Legislative and Presidential Elections, and how the two sectors can work together to fulfill their obligations, the Union believes that an honest discussion about the pressing issues is essential.
Friday’s dialogue is expected to bring together journalists and security personnel from all agencies of government to share experiences and find a way forward in defining the role of the media and security during the elections.
Panelists at Friday’s event will be drawn from the Armed Forces of Liberia, the Liberia National Police, the Executive Protection Agency, and the electronic and print media.
Meanwhile, the PUL is calling on all journalists to be part of Friday’s Media Security Dialogue aimed at chartering standards to guard both the print and electronic media.
