LIBERIA: RULING PARTY’S CAMPAIGN SPOKESMAN TERMS UP’S BOAKAI DEATH THREAT CLAIM A “WICKED LIE”

Date:

MONROVIA – Ruling party’s National Campaign spokesman, Cllr. Kanio Gba Gbala, has termed as a “wicked lie”, recent claim by opposition Unity Party (UP) that its standard bearer, former VP Joseph N. Boakai’s life is in danger and that there is an alleged threat on the life of their first partisan.

But the Coalition for Democratic Change (CDC) National Campaign spokesman, Cllr. Gbala, has described as baseless accusations, statements made by the UP that the CDC has sinister motives regarding the life of former Vice President Boakai.

He made these assertions today in a conversation with state radio ELBC, when he provided an update on the progress of the CDC National Campaign, adding that the CDC had no reason to target Boakai, because according to him, the UP standard bearer poses no political threat or otherwise to the ruling party.

He further noted that President George Weah was comfortably leading all political actors in the 2023 presidential race because the Liberian leader’s development record is unmatchable.

He maintained that accusations from the Unity Party regarding threat on the life of JNB, as being baseless, further describing same as a devious ploy to curry sympathy from Liberians because according to him, the UP has nothing to show after running the country as a ruling party for 12 unbroken years.
