LIBERIA: WOMAN STABBED TO DEATH IN GUESTHOUSE

Date:

A woman believed to be in her early 40s has been found dead in F-2 Guesthouse in Pearson Community, Ganta City, Nimba County.

She was discovered dead in Room#4 of the guesthouse with rope on her neck alongside with a screwdriver that was used to stab her multiple times on her side towards her heart.

The Manager of the F-2 Guest House, Mr. David Kehzie, told reporters that a man identified as Prince Doe booked the room and entered on May 5, 2023, providing his details, including name and address, but told management that he does not have a phone number.

“When you come to this guesthouse, we get all of the information from you before we allow you to come in”, Mr. Kehzie said.

A former district education officer for Bain-Garr District, Mr. Kehzie explained that since he opened the guesthouse in 2008, this is the first incident that has occurred there.

He disclosed that Suspect Prince Doe spent the first night there with this woman and the next day, Friday, May 6, he informed the staff that he was going on the road to buy some time.

But he didn’t return until management went to check Room#4 when the woman was found dead in the room.

According to him, following the discovery of the body on Friday evening, management informed the police immediately.

This paper gathered that the woman was killed in the room and her body locked up by the suspect.

Addressing reporters in front of the guesthouse, Ganta City Mayor Amos N.G. Suah, expressed disappointment and condemned the act.

“We have girls’ children; how can you bring someone’s daughter and killed her in such a manner”, Mayor Suah lamented.

The deceased is believed to have come from outside of Ganta and met her untimely death in a guesthouse.

It is also speculated that the couple might have been old lovers, who came to renew their relationship in Ganta when the woman’s life was taken.

Police sources explained that Suspect Prince Doe used rope and other objects to kill the deceased in the room before absconding.

There was no immediate arrest, but Police are said to be interrogating authorities of the F-2 Guesthouse.

Last year, the body of an employee of Arcelor Mittal-Liberia was discovered at Jackie Guest House also in Ganta after he carried a sex worker there to have a fine time.  Source: the new dawn
