MINISTER OF INFORMATION REJECTS NEWSPAPER REPORT

Date:

LIBERIA – Information Minister Largerhood  Rennie said he has read with utter shock and bewilderment the front page story of the Independent Newspaper suggesting that he is contemplating resigning his post as Minister of Information.

The paper attributed its report to what it called “credible sources” within the Ministry.

But  Mr. Rennie distanced himself from the publication; stating that he has never harbored such intention. The Information Minister said he remains very committed to serving his country, an opportunity which he stated, is bestowed through the appointment and subsequent commissioning by President. George M Weah.

He pointed out that while he has been away in the US, access to him through many media of communications was still available to the publisher of the Independent Newspaper but disclosed that it was unfortunately never utilized.

“I, therefore, owe it to the public, as a senior official, to make the necessary clarification in order to uphold their trust, while executing my duties and role as Minister”, Minister Rennie said in a statement released.
