NEW HUMAN RIGHTS ORGANIZATION FORMED IN U.S. TO AMONGST OTHER THINGS, ENSURE LIBERIA’S ELECTIONS IN OCTOBER ARE CONDUCTED IN A FREE AND FAIR MANNER

Date:

A new human rights organization has been formed in the United States. ‘Advocacy Foundation for Human Rights’ was founded by partners at BW Global Group, LLC, Alan White and Jeff Birrell. Liberian Journalist, Lyndon J. Ponnie reports on the core purpose for the formation of the institution.

The Advocacy Foundation for Human Rights aims to expose individuals engaging in corruption, violence, and suppression of human rights, and those who are involved in crimes against civilian populations around the world.

The organization says it will also seek justice and accountability for victims of human rights abuses and will seek prosecution and sanctions against responsible actors.

The newly established human rights groups note that it will also assist to bring fairness and transparency to the Liberian Presidential Election (October 2023) and promote the establishment of the Liberian War and Economic Crimes Courts.

Alan White Ph.D., is a former Chief of Investigations for the United Nations-backed Special Court for Sierra Leone, West Africa. Alan directed all of the war crimes investigations leading to the indictment and convictions of former Liberian President Charles Taylor and multiple other individuals for War Crimes.

Jeff Birrell has more than 35 years of experience in Washington, D.C., and is a specialist in public relations and government affairs. Jeff is a PRSA Silver Anvil recipient, the society’s highest award for International Crisis Management.

Political activists in Monrovia interviewed recently, welcomed the establishment of the group, pointing out that its activities in Liberia will help to bring transparency to the conduct of the upcoming Liberian elections and as well bring justice to Liberian war victims.
