MONROVIA – The Press Union of Liberia (PUL), says its deeply worried by the attack on the home of former Chief Justice Gloria Musu-Scott by alleged armed robbers.
The Union, in a press statement, condemned the brutal killing of former chief justice Scott’s daughter and wants a speedy investigation in bringing the perpetrators to justice.
According to PUL’s press statement, bringing the killer to justice will instill confidence in Liberia’s security system especially, during these times of the General and Presidential Elections.
PUL President, Charles B. Coffey noted, that the life of former Chief Justice Scott’s daughter was taken away and has left panicked among family members, community dwellers, and the country at large stating further that it is worrisome.
PUL said the freedom to free movement and rights to security including the right to freedom of expression should be enjoyed at all times, cautioning, the joint security to always use the methodology of preventing crimes than curing it.
The Press Union extends her heartfelt sympathy to the former Chief Justice and the bereaved family and urges those responsible sectors to take siege of the matter to have a rapid response.
Meanwhile, Mr. Coffey is further urging the justice ministry to increase security through various security institutions and ensure the security of Liberians. He believes unscrupulous individuals in society may want to use the election period to create havoc.
