TIAWAN GONGLOE IN THE U.S. TO ADDRESS SAN FRANCISCO UNIVERSITY

Date:

Cllr. Tiawan Saye Gongloe, the Standard-Bearer of the Liberian People’s Party (LPP) and Leader of the Gongloe Global Movement, is in the United States to deliver a keynote address at the San Francisco University in California.

Cllr. Gongloe was invited by the African Studies Department of the University to serve as a guest speaker. The program will take place on Wednesday, November 16, 2022. According to the invitation, the LPP Standard-Bearer is expected to expound on the future of Africa in general and Liberia in particular, and how African continent can institute forward-looking policies to stimulate holistic socio-economic and political development.

Cllr. Gongloe, based on his advocacy for human rights, and continuing to strongly entrench himself as an anti-corruption campaigner, will provide enlightenment on the current state of affairs of the oldest free nation in Africa, which continues to grapple with endemic corruption, where government officials enrich themselves while the poor people get poorer.

Following his speech, the LPP flagbearer will then participate in conversation with several leaders of the San Francisco University, including but not limited to the University’s Board Supervisor, Sharmann Walton, Liberian expert on Education for Social Justice, Dr. Tuwe Mehn, USF Political Science Department, Prof. James Taylor, and Prof. Bill Ong Hing, Professor of Law and Migration Studies. There will be a group session following the keynote address by Cllr. Gongloe.

Following the conclusion of his visit to the West Coast, Cllr. Gongloe and wife, Mrs. Sonie Kolako-Gongloe will join an array of supporters in the East and Midwest to grace two major fund-raisers.

According to organizers, in the Midwest, the Gongloe supporters are targeting at least $100,000 USD at a crowd-pulling event which is slated for November 26, 2022, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, while the exclusive Black Tie event on the East coast will be held this Saturday, November 19th in Delaware. The fund-raisers are just beginning of four major fund-drives to financially support the presidential bid of Cllr. Tiawan Saye Gongloe.

According to Mr. Moses Saygbe, chairman of the Black-Tie event committee, several distinguished Liberians will be receiving varied awards for their exemplary contributions to the Liberian society over the years.  Mr. Saygbe disclosed that some of the awards are named in honor of outstanding Liberians such as the late President William R. Tolbert, Jr.; journalist Charles Gbeyon and Mr. Peter Ballah, among others.

Meanwhile, Cllr. Gongloe is calling on Liberians at home and in the diaspora to join the pro-Gongloe movement so that together, Liberians can establish a new paradigm in good governance by ensuring that their leaders are actually accountable to the people, reiterating that “Government is a place to serve, not to steal.”
