LIBERIA – Former ruling Unity Party Secretary General Mohammed Ali has broken his silence on a leaked audio. In the leaked audio, Ali can be heard talking with a young lady…
However, in a statement issued on Monday, April 19, 2021, Ali stated that he took complete responsibility for the incident involving Ms. Augustina Gray. He stated that he has met with the family of Ms. Gray concerning the leaked audio.
In Mo Ali’s press release, he said he is fully aware that the public holds him to high moral standards, saying he had no intention of harming anyone or showing disrespect for his daughters, sisters, or mothers.
He said as a father of three girls, he respects women and knows the importance of protecting them.
The Secretary General of the Unity Party noted that he remains determined to protect the image of his family and political institution.
Mo Ali called on his supporters and the general public to approach the issue with a high level of respect for the privacy of all.
Ali wants the public to abstain from engaging in accusations and attacks on everyone involved.
He announced that he would take time off for the remainder of April 2021, to allow him to fully recover from last week’s moral stress.
Mr. Ali’s open acceptance comes on the heels of woes in the public, arising from a leaked audio recording implicating the Collaborating Political Parties (CPP) stalwart of encouraging Miss. Augustina Gray to abort the reported pregnancy. By Yassah J. Wright
