US EMBASSY ADVISES ITS CITIZENS IN LIBERIA TO AVOID POLITICAL RALLIES TODAY

Date:

MONROVIA – The U.S. Embassy in Monrovia advises all U.S. citizens residing in or visiting Liberia to avoid political rallies that may take place in the Congo Town and Sinkor neighborhoods on Friday, November 17 given the anticipated size of competing rallies and the possibility of clashes between rival political parties.

In a statement early this morning, the U.S. Embassy reminds all U.S. citizens in Liberia to stay away from crowds and maintain a heightened state of vigilance during tomorrow’s rallies.

Actions to Take:

Do not participate in political rallies.

Avoid large crowds.

Be aware of your surroundings.

Monitor local media for updates.

Exercise caution if unexpectedly in the vicinity of large gatherings.

Keep a low profile.
