The All Africa Conference of Churches (AACC) has noted with deep sadness the deteriorating security situation in Sudan. Of grave concern is the civilian bloodshed and horrific reports of rape and sexual violence targeted at women and girls. The deteriorating humanitarian situation and the displacement of thousands of people from their homes reflects the terror being experienced by the people of Sudan. As the world continues to navigate through these difficult moments in the history of humanitarian crisis, there is a need for immediate intervention in Sudan to avert the rising genocide and an end to suffering of the many innocent civilians who have become victims of this barbaric war.
The All Africa Conference of Churches joins calls by the United Nations and other Regional bodies for the Sudanese Armed Forces and the Rapid Support Forces to uphold their obligations under international humanitarian law, respect for human dignity and respect commitments made during the Jeddah talks.
The All Africa Conference of Churches continues to offer prayers and stands in solidarity with the people of Sudan and the many across the globe who continue to suffer as a result of various conflicts in their countries.
