Liberia – A 22-year-old man, Saysay Forkpah met his untimely death when he reportedly fell from a palm tree. The incident occurred in Dorzenilor Town, Zorzor District on January 26, 2024. Family sources told the Lofa Eye that the late Saysay Forkpah left his home early to harvest palm when he met his untimely death. Palm harvesting was one of Forkpah’s mean sources of survival, said family members.

Forkpah body was found lying in the pool of blood under the palm tree at 2pm by relatives who had gone in search of him. The family source further narrated that Forkpah Saysay’s body was discovered with a sharp stick running through his back to his left chest, suggesting that his heart got affected by the sharp object.

The deceased was a 2022/2023 graduate of the Konia Garbo High School in Konia Town, Zorzor, Lofa County. He was the valedictorian of that graduating class. He successfully passed all nine (9) subjects during the 2023 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) and was honored on January 25, 2024 by the Zorzor District Educational Office as one of the best performing students in WASSCE at the level of the District.

Following the discovery of his lifeless body, his family immediately contacted the Liberia National Police (LNP) in Konia for investigation, and it was later established that there was no foul play. The remains of Saysay Forkpa was laid to rest by family members on January 27, 2024 in Dorzenilor Town, Zorzor District.
