GEORGE YARNGO ASSUMES LEADERSHIP OF LIBERIA’S NATIONAL WASH COMMISSION

MONROVIA – On Monday, May 6, 2024, George W.K. Yarngo, the newly appointed Chief Executive Officer of the National WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene) Commission of Liberia, officially assumed his duties at a vibrant ceremony held at the Commission’s headquarters. The event brought together a wide array of partners and stakeholders from the WASH sector in Liberia, including WASH civil society organizations, members of the media, and Commission staff.

In his inaugural address, Mr. Yarngo began by expressing his gratitude to President Joseph Nyumah Boakai for entrusting him with this crucial role. He pledged to uphold the confidence placed in him by working tirelessly to advance the Commission’s mandate.

Mr. Yarngo emphasized the importance of teamwork and professionalism, affirming that these values would guide his leadership. He reassured Commission staff that his administration would be marked by inclusivity and transparency, emphasizing that there would be no witch-hunt during his tenure.

Looking ahead, Mr. Yarngo outlined his vision for the Commission, stating his commitment to collaborating with all stakeholders and government entities to elevate the status of WASH in Liberia. He pledged to work diligently to ensure that the Commission and the WASH sector as a whole become exemplary models of effectiveness and efficiency in Liberia.

The ceremony concluded on a positive note, with attendees expressing optimism about Mr. Yarngo’s leadership and the future of WASH in Liberia under his stewardship.
