MONROVIA – The Liberia National Police (LNP) has arrested motorcyclist Christian Smith for illegal possession of a weapon.
According to the police, on Saturday, May 18, 2024, at about 5 AM, Smith allegedly ran violently through a checkpoint at Vamoma Junction along Tubman Boulevard.
Responding officers reported that while Smith was attempting to escape, he collided with a moving vehicle in the opposite direction upon seeing a police vehicle ahead of him.
As a result of the accident, Smith sustained fractures on his left heel, knee, and ankle, and was rushed to the trauma procedure room at JFK Hospital.
The report further reveals that during the medical examination, he was found in possession of a single-barrel shotgun and two rounds of ammunition.
Currently, the accident victim-turned-suspect is under police custody while undergoing treatment, pending investigation.
