AMOS C. SAWYER COLLEGE FACULTY PUBLISHES BOOK ABOUT LIBERIA

MONROVIA – Mr. Peter Sulon Dolo, a distinguished English Language Instructor and Chairman Emeritus of the Department of English and Language Studies at Amos C. Sawyer College of Social Sciences and Humanities, University of Liberia, has published a new book about Liberia.

The book by Professor Dolo explores the profound impact of the Liberian crisis, which resulted in many deaths, homelessness, mental disturbances, and social, moral, and economic instability.

Published by the American tech-giant Amazon, the poetry collection is well-written, informative, and sheds new light on the unwanted events that transpired in Liberia.

The Dean of the College, Prof. Dr. Josephus M. Gray, on behalf of the academic team of Amos C. Sawyer College and the President of the University of Liberia, Prof. Dr. Julius Julukon Sarwolo Nelson, lauded Mr. Peter S. Dolo for his informative and thought-provoking publication, skillfully written with deep care.

In his words of appreciation for the book, Dr. Gray praised the author. In a Thank You Letter to Mr. Dolo, the Sawyer College’s Dean stated, “You have demonstrated a deep understanding of instructional best practices and made the University of Liberia very proud.”

Dr. Gray commended Mr. Dolo for choosing a critical topic to research and for sharing new knowledge about the subject in a skillful and thoughtful manner, providing a thorough examination of the situations in Liberia for the benefit of a large audience.

The Sawyer College’s Dean used the letter to encourage faculty members and other scholars at the College to consider sharing new knowledge through research and publication of books.

According to Dr. Gray, the myth that professors at the University of Liberia are not writing books can no longer be sustained due to the numerous publications by professors and instructors of the flagship university, especially those from Amos C. Sawyer College. “Thank you for your service, mentorship, and quality knowledge shared with thousands of students at the University of Liberia,” he added.
