In a significant crackdown on the illegal drug trade, Regional Commander Aaron Karzon of the Liberia Drug Enforcement Agency (LDEA), along with his dedicated team, successfully arrested three female suspects on Tuesday, June 18, 2024. The operation took place in the counties of Bomi, Cape Mount, and Gbarpolu, following a critical tip-off.
The suspects, all in their mid-40s, were apprehended with a substantial quantity of narcotics, the value of which amounts to thousands of Liberian dollars. This seizure marks a pivotal moment in the LDEA’s ongoing efforts to combat drug trafficking and ensure community safety in these regions.
Commander Karzon highlighted the importance of community cooperation in these efforts, stating, “The success of this operation underscores the crucial role that timely information from the public plays in our fight against illegal drugs. We urge citizens to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities.”
The confiscated drugs are now in the possession of the LDEA, pending further investigation and legal proceedings. This arrest not only disrupts the supply chain of narcotics in the region but also sends a strong message to those involved in the drug trade that such activities will not be tolerated.
The LDEA continues to strengthen its operations across Liberia, aiming to reduce the prevalence of drug-related crimes and enhance public safety. With ongoing community support and rigorous enforcement, the agency is committed to making significant strides in its anti-narcotics campaign.
