ANSU SIRYON SHINES AS MOST VALUABLE PLAYER AT LFA GRASSROOTS U-8 FESTIVAL TOURNAMENT

Date:

In the heart of Paynesville City, excitement filled the air as the sun rose over the SKD Practice field where the Liberia Football Association’s annual U-8 grassroots tournament took place. Children from football academies in the city gathered to showcase their skills, but one tiny figure stood out among the rest, five-year-old Ansu R. M. Siryon.

As the tournament commenced, colorful jerseys dotted the fields, with parents cheering enthusiastically for their children. Ansu Siryon played for the “Total Football Academy,” owned by former player  and head coach of the Liberia National team.

Throughout the second half of the much needed game, Ansu’s skill and determination shone brightly. He weaved through defenders with surprising agility, his small feet gliding over the grass as if he were dancing. His teammates, inspired by his energy, played harder and smarter with every match.

As the minutes ticked by, the scoreboard remained tied at 1-1. The crowd held their breath, each parent whispering words of encouragement to their little players, shortly after the interval, coach Tamba introduced little Ansu Siryon to the pitch..

With just a few minutes left on the clock, lad collected a pass from a teammate and relaxingly placed the ball in the upper left angle of the goal post, making the score 2-1, thus sending his team to the finals.

The Total Football Academy advanced through the finals after defeating GSA Young Star 2-1 the kid who  won the MVP for the U-8 category match, scored one of the most impressive and wanted goals at the SKD practice pitch.

The Total Football Academy erupted with joy as coaches, parents and fans celebrating the much needed win.

The cheers were deafening, and as the final whistle blew, Little Siryon was embraced by his teammates lifting him in the air in a jubilant mood.

It became clear that Ansu Siryon’s contributions on the field had not gone unnoticed, with a beaming smile, he was given the Most Valuable Player (MVP) award.

The little boy was greeted with so much joys from his coaches, friends and parents; he may have been young, but on that day, he had shown that age is just a number-passion, skill, and heart matter more.
