MONROVIA – The Bensonville Magisterial Court in Bentol City has ordered Reverend Chaplain Massa D. Tarnue Jr. of Palm Spring, Blacy Town, Fendell Community, Montserrado County, to repay US$6,075 after he confessed to charges of theft of property and misapplication of entrusted property.
The case was brought against Rev. Tarnue by complainant Bobby Yango of Joe Bar Community, Paynesville. Court documents seen by this paper reveal that Tarnue agreed to a payment schedule to settle the financial obligation.
According to the stipulation signed on March 8, 2025, and approved by Stipendiary Magistrate Quincy A.Q. Garnett, Rev. Tarnue committed to paying the complainant in installments between April and September this year. The court document states:
“I, the undersigned in person of Rev. Chaplain Massa D. Tarnue, Jr., confessed and assume the full and total financial responsibility to pay the sum of US$6,075.00 (Six Thousand and Seventy-Five United States Dollars) to complainant Bobby Yango, in equal payments as follow.”
The schedule requires Tarnue to pay US$1,000 each at the end of April, May, June, July, and August, followed by a final installment of US$1,075 at the end of September.
The court further ruled that any failure to honor the payment plan would lead to immediate arrest. The court document warns:
“That failure on my part to make said payment as mentioned herein, I should be arrested and be made to make one bulk payment or serve out my eight (8) month suspended sentence at the Monrovia Central Prison.”
Magistrate Garnett approved the stipulation, noting that the agreement constituted “legal and sufficient authority” for enforcement.
