BISHOP BROWN LEADS APCI 17TH BIENNIAL CONFERENCE IN LIBERIA TO ADOPT KEY NATIONAL RESOLUTIONS

BREWERVILLE , MONTSERRADO COUNTY – The 17th General Biennial Conference of the Apostolic Pentecostal Church International concluded on Sunday, February 22, 2026, with a solemn Thanksgiving and Climax Service at the Edifice of New Water in the Desert Assembly in Brewerville, Montserrado County. The weeklong gathering ended with the adoption of a far-reaching resolution formally signed by Rev. Dr. Kortu K. Brown, Bishop of APCI, outlining the Church’s spiritual commitments and national positions.

The conference convened on February 16 and officially opened to delegates on February 17, drawing pastors, ministers, and members under the theme “Launch Out Into the Deep.” Throughout the sessions, participants reflected on the Church’s mission while addressing pressing spiritual, social, and economic issues confronting Liberia.

In its opening declaration, the conference expressed profound gratitude to God for His guidance and blessings. Thanksgiving was extended to the Apostolic Pentecostal Church International for its steadfast role in spiritual growth and community outreach. The body also appreciated the Christian community of Liberia for its unity and resilience, acknowledged the economic perseverance of the Liberian people, and celebrated the peace and stability enjoyed in Liberia, across Africa, and around the world.

Beyond gratitude, the conference offered fervent intercessory prayers for national unity, economic prosperity, reconciliation among Liberians, and global peace. Leaders emphasized that spiritual responsibility must align with civic consciousness in shaping a better future.

Central to the resolution were eleven clearly defined actions adopted by the conference body.

First, the Church called for the promotion of responsible speech in Liberian society. It urged citizens to reject obscene and vulgar expressions, including what it referred to as “Ma Cus,” which has been defended by some under the banner of free speech. The conference commended the Supreme Court of Liberia for recent legal initiatives aimed at protecting public discourse and safeguarding the moral development of children.

Second, the Church unequivocally condemned the practice of sodomy in Liberia and called upon the Government, particularly the Ministry of Justice and the Liberia National Police, to ensure justice for a 15-year-old boy reportedly victimized by agents of the National Security Agency. The resolution underscored the Church’s advocacy for accountability and protection of the vulnerable.

Third, APCI urged the Government of Liberia to ensure that the benefits of the nation’s vast natural resources directly impact its citizens. Delegates resolved that economic and financial programs must prioritize ordinary Liberians in order to reduce hunger, alleviate poverty, and foster sustainable empowerment.

Fourth, the Church formally adopted a commitment to Person to Person Evangelism, modeled after what it described as Jesus’ fishing method, reinforcing the importance of personal relationships in spreading the Gospel.

Fifth, the conference resolved to institute an annual three-month prayer campaign at the end of each year, focusing specifically on the Family, the Church, and the Nation as pillars of spiritual and societal stability.

Sixth, the implementation of Person to Person Evangelism was reinforced as a mandate across all districts, ensuring structured execution of the Jesus fishing method strategy.

Seventh, responsibility for preparing conference grounds was assigned exclusively to the General Men Department of APCI, a move aimed at improving coordination and efficiency.

Eighth, the conference mandated district-level ministerial training sessions twice each year to ensure that pastors and ministers remain grounded in Apostolic doctrine and equipped for effective ministry.

Ninth, recognizing the financial demands of organizing large-scale conferences, each district is now required to provide additional financial support beyond standard sitting and assessment fees to sustain operations.

Tenth, the conference standardized participation fees for future gatherings as follows: Pastors will contribute $25, General License holders $20, Local and Exhorters $15, and Members $10, ensuring structured and equitable contributions.

Eleventh, in alignment with this year’s theme, each district is mandated to plant at least five new preaching points annually, a decisive expansion strategy designed to deepen evangelistic outreach and extend APCI’s spiritual footprint nationwide.

Through these comprehensive resolutions, the Apostolic Pentecostal Church International reaffirmed its dual commitment to spiritual revival and national transformation. Signed by Bishop Kortu K. Brown, the resolution stands as both a spiritual covenant and a civic statement, signaling the Church’s determination to influence moral standards, advocate for justice, promote economic fairness, and intensify evangelism across Liberia. As delegates return to their respective districts, APCI’s message remains firm that faith must not only be preached but practiced in shaping the future of the nation.
