MONROVIA – The Liberia National Police (LNP) has confirmed that a fourth suspect linked to the alleged murder of Austin Tengeeh has been arrested in Ghana, as investigations into the case continue.
According to police authorities, the suspect was apprehended by the Ghana Police Service, which has been working closely with Liberian investigators to address the case.
Speaking during a telephone interview on the LNP’s Morning Watch radio program, the Commissioner of Police for Crime Services, Johnny Dean, confirmed that Liberian authorities were officially informed about the arrest by their counterparts in Ghana.
Dean revealed that the Ghana Police Service has also notified the Liberia National Police that all individuals suspected of involvement in the case have already appeared before a court in Ghana.
“The Liberia National Police has been duly informed by its Ghanaian counterpart that all suspects linked to the case have been arraigned before a court in Ghana,” Commissioner Dean said.
He explained that since the investigation began, both police institutions have maintained regular communication and collaboration to ensure progress in the case.
Dean further praised the Ghana Police Service for its cooperation, noting that the agency has consistently shared important information with the Liberia National Police during the course of the investigation.
Addressing public reactions surrounding the case, Dean expressed concern about certain comments circulating on social media from citizens in both Liberia and Ghana.
He emphasized that the Ghana Police Service is carrying out its duties in accordance with the law to ensure that the suspects face justice through the legal system.
Commissioner Dean therefore urged the public in both countries to remain calm and allow the judicial process to proceed without interference.
The confirmation of the arrest was communicated through a statement issued by the Chief of Public Affairs of the Liberia National Police, Sam K. Collins, who reiterated the LNP’s commitment to cooperating with international partners in ensuring justice is served.
