FORMER PRO-TEMP WANTS JUSTICE SERVED IN CHARLOE’S MURDER CASE – AS EX-CHIEF JUSTICE, OTHERS GET REARRESTED AND JAILED

By Olando Testimony Zeongar

MONROVIA – In the wake of ex-Chief Justice Gloria Musu-Scott and three others being rearrested and detained on multiple charges for allegedly playing a role in the brutal murder of young Charloe Musu, former President Pro-Tempore of the Liberian Senate, Mr. Armah Zolu Jallah, has made the call for justice to be equitably dispensed in the case.

Former Justice Gloria Musu-Scott, Ma Rebecca Youdeh Wisner, Gertrude Newton and Alice Johnson, all considered prime suspects in the Charloe murder case, were on Thursday, formally charged by the Liberia National Police (LNP), taken to the Monrovia City Court and later remanded at the Monrovia Central Prison, having been released the previous day from police custody on a writ of Habeas Corpus.

Police charged the four ladies with “Murder, Criminal Conspiracy and Making False Statements to Law Enforcement Officers.”

Howbeit, former Pro-Temp of the Liberian Senate, Jallah says he wants justice to prevail in legal proceedings that have already begun as a result of the gruesome murder of Charloe Musu, who was allegedly stabbed multiple times to death on 22 February 2023, at her family home in Lower Virginia, outside the capital, Monrovia.

According to former Justice Gloria Musu-Scott, who is considered the mother of the deceased, on the night of 22 February, an unidentified assailant allegedly broke into their Lower Virginia home in an attempt to assassinate her, but that Charloe was instead victimized.

Prior to the 22 February tragic incident, ex-Chief Justice Gloria Musu-Scott had alarmed that her Virginia home was previously attacked twice by people believed to be assailants.

However, former Pro-Temp Jallah is urging members of the public, particularly family members and supporters of ex-Chief Justice Scott, to wait and see the evidence that will be adduced in court by the legal team of the Government of Liberia in the Charloe murder case.

“We may have to wait and see the evidence first the prosecution produces and the resistance of the defense team,” Jallah said on Friday, adding, “No need to rush. We only pray for justice to be served in this case and all other cases.”

Jallah averred that by an through legal proceedings and true justice, he wants the truth unraveled in circumstances regarding the brutal murder of Charloe.

He noted that while he wants justice to be served in the Charloe murder case, he prays that same is done in all other cases, especially those of several Liberian auditors, who reportedly died under dubious circumstances.

Jallah, the founding chairperson of the political action group in support of the presidential bid of former VP Jospeh N. Boakai (JNB), the National Alliance for JNB, expressed the hope that when JNB takes over as Liberia’s next president, the Liberian government under his (JNB’s) leadership, would reopen investigations into the deaths of those auditors, who he noted were said to have died under mysterious circumstances.
