WHO GAVE TRH UNHINDERED ACCESS TO THE FREEPORT IN WAKE OF US$100M COCAINE SEIZURE?

Date:

LIBERIA – Different sources in high places in the Liberian government are now revealing that TRH, the business entity that brought the container in which US$100 million raw cocaine was seized recently, enjoys unhindered access to the Freeport of Monrovia.

No officials recent have been given for this special privilege given to TRH. TRH is said to be a subsidiary of the Abi Jouadi conglomerate.

Local and International investigators are still investigating who brought into Liberia a container fill with US$100 Million worth of Cocaine under the pretext of importing Frozen food.

It appears that people from high places in the Weah Government may have had hands in the cocaine container fiasco, as the investigation has found out that the container in which the US$100 Million worth of cocaine was brought into the country, did not go under physical inspection as required by law before it was removed from the Freeport of Monrovia.

This was allegedly based on instructions from people are the Ministry of Commerce and the Liberia Revenue Authority, our sources revealed.

A Global Tracking and Maritime Solution (GTMS) document on the importation of the cocaine container requested a physical examination of the container, but the investigation found out that Liberian Customs and Commerce Ministry’s inspectors breached this very cardinal requirement-they did not do an on the spot physical examination of the container before it was taken away to the SONIT Liberia Incorporated’s warehouse in Topoe Village, on the suburb of Monrovia.

According to an investigation conducted by Smart News Liberia, the container was ordered by TRH Trading Corporation, which is said to be a subsidiary of AJA- Group Holdings, a conglomeration of ABI Jaoudi & Fresh Frozen Food Inc.

The investigation discovered that the container was loaded at the Brazilian Port of Itajai; the agent for TRH was Maersk Line Liberia LTD.

On September 26, 2022, at 23:55 hours, the container containing the cocaine was removed from the Freeport of Monrovia on a truck with license Plate: LB10804 which was driven by one Sidiki Fofana.

Sources at the Freeport of Monrovia say the container did not go through any physical examination from Liberian customs officers or inspectors from the Ministry of Commerce as required.

Fingers are being pointed at the Ministry of Commerce and the LRA for allegedly giving unhindered access to the firm that brought in the cocaine. Information gathered by Smart News is that people allegedly linked to the cocaine container are spending big to suppress media reportage on the cocaine issue.

However, Smart News has received information that the  United States security investigators have advanced their investigation into the case, while their Liberian counterparts are dragging their feet.

Even though our sources say evidence abounds about how the cocaine container left the port unchecked, some people attempting to undermine the investigation and cover the culprits, some of whom are allegedly public service workers.

For instance, one whistleblower told Smart News Liberia he has been threatened by a senior government official for publicly naming the entity that brought in the cocaine container. Investigation continues
