Friends and well-wishers from the business community and the professional class,
Members of the Fourth Estate
Comrades and militants from the progressive community, Distinguished ladies and gentlemen:
Let me first begin by thanking the Rescue mother and through her the Unity Party Alliance parties for establishing a Rescue Mission headquarters for the redemption of our country.
Ladies and gentlemen, about three weeks ago, the NDC convened in its national convention and unanimously agreed to take a side in the 2023 presidential and legislative elections. The NDC 3rd National Convention took place when most Liberians are disappointed in Liberia’s footballing president and a “Bunga dancer” in Mr. George M. Weah government’s inability to pay attention to the social, economic and developmental challenges that gave rise to the fourteen-year civil unrest. Hence, this is an important but scary moment in Liberia because in the coming 2023 elections, if the leadership question is not approached with a sense of responsibility, wisdom, self-denial, and fairness, there will be confusion, a situation that we don’t wish for.
Comrades, guided by the national interest and the mandate of the NDC 3rd National Convention, it is our place to show the best way for genuine national leadership because the society is lost and terror has engulfed the nation, all because the Weah-led government has deliberately chosen to ignore the glaring insecurity in Liberia, the high unemployment, the blatant corruption, the unbearable poverty, the extra-judicial killings, the promotion of drug culture and illegal dealing in firearms, as well as the suppression of the exercise of liberty.
Directed by the national interest, it is our obligation to simplify the direction that is necessary for safeguarding the future of our children and posterity. For our part, this we have done before, this is our mission, this we will continue to do and it will remain for Liberians to understand where we stand on critical national issues or bear the consequences of their failure to understand us. From the way in which appointments are made to high offices, to the practice of selective justice in the fight against corruption, to the marginalization of political opposition, to the disregard for the conditions of the youth, women, and poor people in general, to the unwillingness to listen to others and take them seriously and to bad policy formulation and implementation, it is clear that there are very strong grounds for disagreement with the direction of the present CDC Government.
Distinguish ladies and gentlemen, dear comrades: Changes in political behavior and circumstances have a powerful tendency to impact political relationships, forms of alliances, and approaches to mobilize. We are on the radical side of politics because we stand basically for the interest of poor people and for progressive social change in society. But we are not unreasonable or unbending. We only insist that the national interest cannot be greedily compromised only for temporary, personal gains, as only low-class creatures undertake such ventures in national politics.
Declaration of Support for JNB/JKK
Distinguished ladies and gentlemen, comrades and militants: In Liberia and the diaspora, we have seen how presidents symbolize national direction, and having converged at our 3rd National Convention for the purpose of showing Liberians a trustworthy, dependable, and promising leader, we believe that the Rescue Mission is the best and genuine alternative for the Liberian people.
Today, I am glad to inform you, as Chairman of the National Democratic Coalition that the NDC and executives, officials, partisans, and well-wishers throughout the length and breadth of Liberia are standing with the presidential campaign of JNB and JKK in the rescue mission and we are recommending to the management team of the Rescue Team for the inclusion of our county chairpersons on the campaign team at the various counties level. Also, in the coming days, we will present to you our plan for inclusive national development of the state so that it can be included in the AREST Agenda of the Rescue Mission.
We have been inspired by the coming together of well-meaning Liberians.
We are ready to work, in Monrovia, in the deep countryside, everywhere, we are ready to work for the success of the rescue mission.
LIBERIA FIRST ALWAYS! GOD BLESS THE NDC! GOD BLESS LIBERIA! AND GOD BLESS THE INCOMING PRESIDENT (AMB. JOSEPH NYUMAH BOAKAI, Sr.) AND THE INCOMING VICE PRESIDENT SENATOR JEREMIAH KPAN KOUNG OF THE REPUBLIC OF LIBERIA
Presented on this faithful day of July 28, 2023, at the JNB/JKK Rescue Mission Center in Monrovia, Liberia.
Authorized by delegates’ decision at the 3rd National Convention of the National Democratic Coalition (NDC) on July 8, 2023, in the City of Monrovia, Republic of Liberia
Liberia just like to suffer themselves. Where in the world an 82-year-old man, with a documented history of heart illness can have the vigilance to manage a country as dysfunctional as Liberia? Even worse he’s combined forces with the 2nd worst Liberian ever (the murderous Prince Johnson – with Charles Taylor being #1). How can PYJ Party be part of the Rescue Train when he’s documented on stealing millions from Liberia is many corruption scheme? Plus, Boakai running mate and PYJ right-hand man, J. Koung, is part and parcel of the Legislature that used USD430m over 6 years – with no activity/performance report, and no audit – and even no website. Yes, USD430m spent and not a single audit – and not even a website. The prior Legislature under Tyler/Jallah/JNB spent USD220m – also without audit and no performance reports. How can these people be the Rescuers. J. Koung and Thomas Fallah are the ring leaders for this Legislative cartel. J Koung, particularly, is document in CENTAL report for USD1M budget fraud and conflict of interes, but instead of facing investigation and prosecution, he running for office and people are hailing him as Rescue-1? Voting UP & Boakai is the best indication that the Liberian don’t desire progress. Boakai can deceive everyone but he certainly cannot deceive the international community about the value of PYJ and his MDR party to good governance. For those Liberians who still desire suffering, Boakai is their best choice.
