Arthur Melo has confirmed he will leave Liverpool at the end of the season having failed to make an impact on loan at Anfield because of injury.
The Brazil international has been limited to just 13 minutes of action for the Reds, after signing on loan from Juventus on transfer deadline day last summer, and that came in the 4-1 defeat to Napoli in the Champions League back in September.
A thigh injury suffered the following month would require surgery and sideline the midfielder for six months. And while the 26-year-old was an unused substitute against Bournemouth, Man City, and Chelsea following his return, he has been left out of the Liverpool matchday squad for the Reds’ last seven games.
The Reds did have an option in Arthur‘s loan contract to sign him permanently at the end of the season, but have understandably decided not to activate it ahead of a planned midfield revamp this summer.
Speaking to Goal about his future, the Brazilian has confirmed he is set to leave Liverpool but still hopes to make his Premier League debut before he departs. Source: liverpoolecho.co.uk
