MONROVIA – Former Montserrado County Superintendent Grace Kpan has been arrested and charged with criminal mischief after allegedly destroying properties valued at US$241,450. The charges stem from a complaint filed by Benson Kun and others, who accuse Kpan of using heavy machinery to demolish their homes in the Tweh Farm Community on April 12.
The properties damaged in the incident are estimated at US$83,795 and US$157,655, according to the complaint presented to the Monrovia City Court. Kpan, who also served as the vice standard-bearer of the Liberian National Union (LINU) during the 2023 elections, previously held the position of Montserrado Superintendent from 2006 to 2017. The case has raised significant concerns regarding property rights and the misuse of authority.
