INFOTECH TRAINING CENTER TO OFFER FREE IT EDUCATION TO STUDENTS IN MONTSERRADO

Date:

LIBERIA – The General Manager of the Infotech Information Technology (IT) Training Center Mr. Christian Abedu, has disclosed a plan by his entity to shortly begin providing free Information Technology ( IT)  training to schools in the Montserrado county.

He said as a true manifestation of this initiative his entity is on the verge of concluding arrangements with school authorities in Montserrado County to begin this process.

Mr. Abedu said they observed that besides the lack of computer knowledge, many schools lack libraries in the country stressing that the offering of the free Information Technology ( IT) training by his entity (Infotech Information Technology (IT) Training Center) will help the Liberian students in many ways.

He made the disclosure on Tuesday, July 18, 2023, in an interview with a team of Journalists at his office in Monrovia in Sinkor.

Mr. Abedu, this is because when it comes to computer education in the country Liberia is far behind as compared to other country countries in the sub-region.

He said Information Technology education or (IT) is necessary because influences almost everything we do, including shopping online, learning, going to the doctor, banking, and dining out.

According to him, it is in the industries of business, higher education, healthcare, banking, finance, and food service where IT has made the most improvements to our lives while some individuals refuse to see the advantages, the benefits far outweigh the negatives.

Mr. Abedu stressed that Infotech Training Center is taking up the initiative even though is cost intensive to lead the way for Liberian students to be fully educated in information technology.

Mr. Abedu, further said some countries like the United Arab Emirate (UAE) has done away with the issues of car boys or conductors and train drivers because of their education in information technology something he noted, it is possible that Liberians too can be educated in Information Technology if there are supported.

He also said his entity intends to extend its initiative of providing free Information Technology ( IT) training to schools in other parts of the country as their own way of buttressing government efforts in the educational system.
