SHEIKH KOUYATEH PICKS DR. VARGBEHLEE AS VICE STANDARD BEARER

MONROVIA – Ahead of the October 10, 2023, general and presidential elections, the Presidential Candidate of the Liberia First Movement (LFM) Sheikh Al Moustapha Kouyateh has named Dr. Max O. Vargbehlee as his Vice Presidential Candidate.

He said Dr. Vargbehlee came on board with vast experience and a character one can trust with the second highest office in the land.

According to him, integrity is high on their national agenda, stating that if elected, they will heal the wounds of Liberians and build a future that all Liberians can be proud of.

Meanwhile, Kouyateh emphasized the significance of guaranteeing free, fair and transparent Elections on October 10, 2023, by the National Elections Commission.

According to him, democracy relies on the confidence and trust of the people, and it is the responsibility of the NEC to ensure that Liberians can exercise their right to vote without any interference.

The LFM’s presidential candidate is at the same time calling on the NEC to fulfill its duty with integrity, impartiality and efficiency, fostering an environment where everyone’s voice will be heard and everyone’s vote counts.

The outspoken Liberian politician said in the spirit of constructive engagement, he appealed to all political parties to refrain from personal attacks and instead focus on policies that will uplift the lives of Liberians.

The LFM political leader added that the nation faces multifaceted challenges, including poverty, unemployment, inadequate education, and healthcare, it is through substantive policy discussions and debates that can identify solutions and chart a path towards progress.

He then rallies Liberians to prioritize the interests and well-being of the Liberian people above partisan agendas, working together to create positive change.

However, Honorable Kouyateh urged all political parties to unite in supporting the establishment of the war and economic crimes court in Liberia. “We have witnessed a lack of transparency, accountability, and responsible decision-that uplift the lives of Liberians,” he said.

In addition, he appeals to every party to rise above personal attacks and prioritize policy to safeguard democracy through free, fair, and transparent elections.  He implores the National Election Commission passionate advocate for a democratic Liberia, that upholds justice, Accountability.

“It is only through this process that we can heal abuses but also lay the foundation for a society built on justice, rule of law, war and economic crime court will not only serve as a deterrent for future for war crimes and economic exploitation are accountable” he added.

Speaking further Sheikh Al Moustapha Kouyateh said the Establishing of the war and economic crimes court is something that he will ensure as president of Liberia come 2024  that Liberians must confront the dark chapters of our past and ensure that those responsible for the Liberian people.
