JOINT SECURITY FORCES BEGIN CITYWIDE PATROLS TO STRENGTHEN MONROVIA’S SAFETY

Date:

MONROVIA – In a move to strengthen public safety and community trust, the Liberia National Police (LNP), in partnership with the Joint Security Forces, has launched a citywide patrol initiative across Monrovia.

The coordinated effort brings together officers from the Liberia Immigration Service, Liberia National Fire Service, and the Liberia Drugs Enforcement Agency. The operation, which began this week, aims to increase police visibility in key areas of the city and address growing security concerns among residents and visitors.

Deputy Inspector General for Operations of the Liberia National Police, Hon. Nelson J. Freeman, said the initiative underscores the LNP’s dedication to public safety. “This joint patrol demonstrates our steadfast commitment to collective action for the safety of our communities. The presence of security officers reassures the people of Liberia that their safety is our top priority, and we will continue to engage actively with the public to address their concerns,” Freeman stated.

The patrols are part of a broader, continuous strategy to foster a safe and welcoming environment in Monrovia. Authorities say the operation will remain ongoing, with frequent updates and public awareness campaigns shared via the Liberia National Police’s official Facebook page.

Security officials stressed that community engagement will be a central component of the effort, with officers not only focusing on crime prevention but also working to build stronger ties with the people they serve.

The LNP reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining high safety standards, ensuring peace, and upholding public confidence across the capital city.
