LACC WELCOMES GUILTY VERDICT AGAINST MADAM NEEPLO IN MAJOR CORRUPTION CASE

Date:

MONROVIA – The Liberia Anti-Corruption Commission (LACC) has formally acknowledged the guilty verdict rendered by Criminal Court C on Friday, April 25, 2025, against Enree B. Neeplo, Program Manager at the Planned Parenthood Association of Liberia (PPAL).

Presiding Judge Blamo Dixon found Ms. Neeplo guilty of economic sabotage following an indictment initiated by the LACC. As part of the judgment, the court ordered her to pay more than US$200,000 in restitution and an additional fine of US$300. The restitution relates to funds misappropriated for the acquisition of a PEWETTA vehicle, a Ford Everest SUV, laptops, catering services, and youth development programs.

Ms. Neeplo was convicted on several charges, including theft, illegal disbursement of public funds, misuse of property, fraud, and criminal conspiracy. Her conviction follows a July 2024 jury decision that found several other PPAL officials guilty. She had petitioned for a separate trial, which was granted. The earlier convictions included Miatta K.K. Kojolo, Ernest Vobah, Peter Collins, and William Gibson.

Judge Dixon has instructed the Clerk of Court to engage the Ministry of Justice to conduct a pre-sentencing investigation.

In its statement, the LACC reiterated its steadfast commitment to combating corruption and ensuring that public resources are safeguarded for the collective benefit of the Liberian people. The Commission emphasized that the ruling sends a strong message that accountability will be pursued irrespective of one’s status or affiliation.
