PRESIDENT BOAKAI ANNOUNCES RENOVATION PLANS FOR CHRISTIAN ASSOCIATION OF THE BLIND SCHOOL

President Boakai made a significant visit today to the Christian Association of the Blind located in the R2 community, Montserrado County. During his visit, he made promises that bring hope and improvement to the institution’s school and living conditions for its students.

The Liberian leader has pledged to undertake a comprehensive renovation of the school, which will include refurbishing the school building and upgrading the perimeter fence for better security. President Boakai expressed concern over the frequent break-ins by criminals who steal food and other items from the institution. To address this, he has promised to provide teaching materials and ensure a more secure environment for the vision-impaired students.

The renovation project will prioritize the school building before moving on to the dormitory. President Boakai reassured the school administrators that the renovation will be executed with utmost care and quality. Despite the challenging conditions faced by the students, he emphasized their Liberian identity, urging them to focus on their education and strive for a better future.

President Boakai also revealed that sponsorship for the project has been secured. The sponsors are expected to visit Liberia once the project is completed to officially hand over the renovated facilities. Additionally, he addressed concerns about the water system, assuring that it will be fixed as part of the renovation process.

In response to the President’s visit and promises, Elijah Manyon, speaking on behalf of Beyan Kota, President of the Christian Association of the Blind, expressed gratitude. Manyon thanked President Boakai for taking the time to witness the deplorable condition of the campus and the poor living conditions of the students. He used the opportunity to call upon other government officials and NGOs to emulate the President’s example by supporting and investing in similar initiatives.

This visit by President Boakai signifies a step towards improving the lives of the vision-impaired students and enhancing the educational environment at the Christian Association of the Blind. With his promises and secured sponsorship, there is renewed hope for a brighter future for the students and the institution as a whole.
