THE EDWIN MELVIN SNOWE’S FURRY: A COMMENTARY BY WONDAH L JAH

Date:

Edwin Melvin Snowe, a former child soldier of the notorious Charles Taylor’s NPFL rebel group, has managed to navigate his way through the ranks, from being the NPFL youth leader to eventually marrying the daughter of Charles Taylor himself. From his humble beginnings, Snowe has become a charismatic figure with a dark past.

Through his connections and manipulation, Snowe has found himself in influential positions. He served as the deputy managing director for operations at the Liberia Petroleum Refining Company (LPRC), where he was accused of embezzling approximately one million dollars. This corruption was exposed during an international audit, but Snowe managed to manipulate the corrupt Liberian court process and was declared innocent.

However, Snowe’s actions have caught up with him, and he now finds himself facing accountability for his alleged war crimes and economic crimes. It is no surprise that Snowe is lashing out at the Americans, as they are the ones who can bring an end to his thievery and manipulation. The Americans have been pushing for justice and accountability for the mass killings in Liberia, and Snowe knows that his day of reckoning is near.

Snowe’s recent bashing of the Americans can be seen as nothing more than a desperate attempt to save himself from the consequences of his actions. He must be held accountable for the wealth he has allegedly looted from the LPRC. It is not enough for him to simply go to jail; his properties should be seized and nationalized to ensure justice is served.

The time for Snowe’s impunity is over. The Americans’ pursuit of justice and closure for the atrocities committed in Liberia is a necessary step towards healing and bringing about a more just society. Snowe’s posturing and shedding of crocodile tears will not save him from the consequences he rightfully deserves. It is time for him to face the music and pay for his crimes.
