WHEN I DIE

Date:

A poem written by Olando Testimony Zeongar

When I die; it ends my divinely designed pilgrimage on planet Earth.

That’s when I will cease to have anything to do with those still with breath.

When I die; death will have no sting on me and no victory will it win.

Because by grace, my soul has been delivered from sin.

When I die; mourn not for me, for it would be a shame.

Because it’s appointed, and naked came I and naked to return, and not with worldly glories and fame.

When I die; on the same day, my lifeless body shall you bury beneath the soil.

In white linen, wrap me like you would do something delicate in an aluminum foil.

When I die; no need for attention-grabbing and money-spending spectacles such as an expensive coffin, wake-keeping, funeral service, or tributes exuded in flattery.

Even those who in my lifetime cared less about me, as well as some who did not want anything to do with me should continue on the same trajectory.

When I die; those who plan to lavish cash and others who may wish to travel miles from across the seas to wash their cheeks in tears and belatedly sing my praises will have no reason to do so.

For whilst I’m alive undeservingly faced with the cruelties life throws at mankind, now is the time, and not when I depart this world and home to my Heavenly Father I go.

When I die; what you say or do thereafter, would to me no more matter.

For how you treat me now as we all cohabit this world that is not our home, is far more to me greater.

When I die; it ends my worldly toils, setbacks, woes, misfortunes, grief, pains, frustrations, and disappointments.

Yes, when I die, God’s Word about all being vanity would have yet again shone the light on mankind’s worldly disillusionments.
