PRESIDENT BOAKAI NOMINATES NEW GOVERNMENT OFFICIALS, SENATE CONFIRMATION PENDING

President Joseph Boakai has recently made a series of new appointments in the Liberian government, impacting key ministries and state-run entities. These appointments include individuals nominated for various ministerial positions across different departments such as Finance Development Planning, Justice, Information, Cultural Affairs & Tourism, Youth & Sports, Gender Children & Social Protection, Public Works and Transport, as well as the Liberian Petroleum Refining Company (LPRC).

The nominees list features prominent names such as Cllr. Jeror Cole Bangalu, Minister of Youth and Sports; Cllr. Cooper W. Kruah, Minister of Justice; Mr. Jerolinmek M. Piah, Minister of Information; Madam Gbeme Horace Kollie, Mr. Roland Giddings, Minister of Public Works; Mr. Sirleaf Tyler, Minister of Transport; Mr. Bill Mcgill Jones, Mr. Dehpue Zuo, Mr. Anthony Myers, Madam Tanneh Branson, Mr. Elwood T. Nettey, and Mr. Amos Tweh. These nominations, however, are contingent on confirmation by the Liberian Senate.

Additionally, the President has also appointed Mr. Emmanuel N. Reeves, Sr. as Officer in Charge of the Liberia Maritime Authority and Mr. Jake Kabakole as Officer in Charge of the National Oil Company of Liberia. These individuals will oversee the respective institutions until their official heads are appointed. These appointments have already taken effect.

These appointments signify a significant step in shaping the leadership and governance of Liberia and are expected to have a far-reaching impact on the country’s administrative and regulatory landscape. As these nominees and appointees step into their new roles, it is anticipated that they will contribute to the nation’s development and progress under the leadership of President Boakai.
