PYL LAUNCHES MOVEMENT – LIBERIA CHAPTER, CONDEMNS VAGUE AUTOPSY REPORT OF PRINCESS COOPER

Date:

MONROVIA – The Progressive Youth of Liberia has launched the Movement For Better Liberia – Liberia Chapter, condemning the vague autopsy report of Princess Cooper and urging the government to protect the rights of all citizens.

According to the PYL press release, young people across Liberia are rising with unwavering courage to spark a significant revolution in defense of the ordinary people and youth. They decry massive corruption, injustices, bad governance, and economic deprivations, calling for proactive security, quality healthcare, job opportunities, better education, stable energy, and agricultural advancement.

“As Liberia approaches its next General and Presidential Election in 2023, the youth are determined to educate the populace for a conscious and progressive decision-making process”.

The Movement For Better Liberia, established in 2020, seeks to improve the welfare of the people through a robust and sensible approach. The movement has engaged the Anti-Corruption Commission with professionalism and an uncompromising spirit, focusing on establishing an independent judiciary branch, an independent election commission, an independent central bank, and enhancing the national health and education sectors.

“The youth unequivocally condemn the government’s approach to conducting autopsies, emphasizing that a democratic government has a constitutional obligation to provide accurate information to its citizens, especially regarding mysterious deaths,” press statement indicated.

The recent autopsy report on Princess Cooper was characterized by discrepancies and anomalies. The government is urged to uphold the social contract with its people in the spirit of good governance.

The Progressive Youth of Liberia implores the government to protect the constitutional, democratic, and natural rights of its people, emphasizing that these rights are more powerful than any government.
